Darwin's Doubts with Stephen Meyer

Does the concept of intelligent design assume all the plants or animals would take billion years to be evolved? If it supports that it should take billion years to be evolved, it contradicts Psalm 33:9 that every substance should come into existence immediately after God’s speech. The following is the explanation:

Psalms 33:6 conveys a message that the heavens were created after God’s speech.

Psalms 33:6, “By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.”

Genesis 1:1, “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”

Genesis 1:1 gives the implication that God not only created the heaven, but also the earth. Thus, it would turn up that God should have created the heaven as well as the earth by His words if Genesis 1:1 is to be read with Psalms 33:6.

Psalms 33:9, “For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast.”

How long should God take to accomplish His construction of the entire earth and the heaven?

The heavens and the earth should immediately stand fast if Genesis 1:1 has to be read with Psalms 33:9.

Despite the entire earth stood fast after God’s speech, it was without form as mentioned in Genesis 1:2.

Genesis 1:2, “And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.”

Genesis 1:3, “And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.” If Genesis 1:3 should be read with Psalms 33:9, it should turn up the light immediately appeared after God’s speech.

Genesis 1:9, “And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.” If Genesis 1:9 should be read with Psalms 33:9, it should turn up the lands immediately appeared after God’s speech.

Genesis 1:11, “And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.” If Genesis 1:11 should be read with Psalms 33:9, it should turn up the grass and the adult trees with fruits and seeds immediately appear after God’s speech.

Genesis 1:14, “And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:” If Genesis 1:14 should be read with Psalms 33:9, it should turn up starlight immediately appeared after God’s speech.

Genesis 1:20, “And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.” If Genesis 1:20 should be read with Psalms 33:9, it should turn up marine living and flying creatures immediately appeared after God’s speech.

Genesis 1:24, “And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.” If Genesis 1:24 should be read with Psalms 33:9, it should turn up different kinds of living creatures appeared after God’s speech.

Genesis 1:26, “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.” If Genesis 1:26 should be read with Psalms 33:9, it should turn up Humans were formed immediately after God’s speech.

I don't understand what you are trying to say. Why can't you be more clear? Are you saying everything was created at once immediately after God spoke?

I'll let the other commenter speak for herself. But what you said is close. God created everything by speaking it into existence. Light first, then the sky-boundary, then the dry land, and so on.

God delivered His words on different days for various creations, such as, light (Genesis 1:3); the heaven (Genesis 1:1); the grass (Genesis 1:11); humans (Genesis 1:26); and etc. He did not take much time for them to appear since each creation stood fast immediately after His speech as mentioned in Genesis 33:9.

The concept of intelligent design assumes that God was the One that guided the entire process of all creation from the simplicity, such as, simple molecule or unicellular or etc., to the complexity. However, the scripture supports that all the creations were God’s direct and immediate master piece of work. He did not spend time to direct other mechanisms, such as, natural selection, time or etc., to cause the formation of this universe since everything came into being immediately after His speech as mentioned in Psalms 33:9.

A kind of animals or plants came into being immediately at the same time after another kind after God’s speech as mentioned in Genesis 1:11 and 1:24. However, the concept of intelligent design supports a kind of animals or plants should be the process of natural selection that had been guided by God throughout time to cause the transformation.

Genesis 1:11, “And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit AFTER HIS KIND, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.”

Genesis 1:24, “And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.”
