Dr. Andrew A. Snelling is one of the world's leading researchers in flood geology. He now works as Director of Research for Answers in Genesis - USA, after originally working for Australia's Creation Science Foundation, then Answers in Genesis in Australia, then the Institute for Creation Research in San Diego, California, as an Associate Professor of Geology. He was a founding member of the RATE group (Radioisotopes and the Age of The Earth). His primary research interests include radioisotopic methods for the dating of rocks, formation of igneous and metamorphic rocks, and ore deposits. Dr. Andrew Snelling has a B.Sc. with first class honors in Applied Geology from the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia, and a Ph.D. in Geology from the University of Sydney. He worked for a several years in the mining industry throughout Australia undertaking mineral exploration surveys and field research. He has also been a consultant research geologist for more than a decade to the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organization and the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission for internationally funded research on the geology and geochemistry of uranium ore deposits as analogues of nuclear waste disposal sites. Andrew Snelling has been involved in extensive creation research in Australia and overseas, including the formation of all types of mineral deposits, radioactivity in rocks and radioisotopic dating, and the formation of metamorphic and igneous rocks, sedimentary strata and landscape features (such as the Grand Canyon in the USA and Ayers Rock in Australia) within the biblical framework for earth history. As well as writing regularly and extensively in international creation publications, Andrew has traveled around Australia and widely overseas (USA, UK, New Zealand, South Africa, Korea, Indonesia, Hong Kong, China) speaking in schools, churches, colleges and universities, on the overwhelming scientific evidence consistent with the biblical account of Creation and Noah’s Flood. Technical papers by Andrew Snelling on metamorphism and rock dating have won the prestigious "Technical Excellence Award" as best technical paper at both the 1994 and 1998 International Conference on Creationism. Andrew Snelling was raised in a Christian family in Sydney, Australia. He is married to wife Kym, and has three adult children. Andrew’s interest in geology began very soon after his conversion at 9 years of age. His very firm conviction in the authority and veracity of the Scriptures brought him to the creation/evolution controversy early in his teens, so that by the commencement of university studies, Andrew already had a clear Scriptural perspective on the literalness of Creation and Noah’s Flood, and an unmistakable call from the Lord for a life-long involvement in creationist ministry.

Honors/Awards
- At the Third International Conference on Creationism in Pittsburgh (1994), Andrew Snelling was presented with the Technical Excellence Award for the best technical paper, a paper on evidence for regional metamorphism within the creationist timeframe.
- At the Fourth International Conference on Creationism (1998), he gained the first three prizes for technical excellence: first prize for his studies on anomalous radiometric ‘dates’ of recent lava flows from Mt Ngauruhoe volcano, New Zealand, and the second and third prizes were for co-authored papers with John Woodmorappe and Steve Austin respectively.
